How to become a Member?

If you are seeking baptism and/or desire to become a member of Trinity Methodist Church Petaling Jaya, you are required to attend the Baptism & Membership Course.

This course consisting of 16 lessons over 12 weeks, is especially designed for all who are new to Christianity and looks at issues relating to the Christian Faith, Methodism, Church Membership, and our vision and direction as a church. This course is conducted throughout the year with short breaks.

A member of The Methodist Church may have his/her membership transferred from one local church to another by certificate of transfer issued by the local church. Members from other Christian denominations may be received into membership by certificate of transfer or letter of commendation from his/her former church and upon completing the required lessons in the Baptism & Membership Course. Please feel free to contact the Pastors for further information.

Membership Committee

The scope of the Membership Committee’s responsibilities are:-

  • Membership data update including publication and distribution of the updated directory;
  • Administration support of the Baptism and Confirmation classes including the Baptism/New Members’ Sunday & Welcome Lunch
  • Membership Drive Sunday
  • Promote friendship among the members eg Friendship/Getting-to-know-you Sunday; develop the welcome kits for visitors
  • Provide support to the Church Camp Committee and the Fellowship Committee
